Little Bear felt, in his heart, like the stars twinkling into his view, that he wanted to feel that same stellar connection to the music in his bones!   And to make the notes sing!

Chapter One

What a Thrilling Idea!

On Windy-Winding Way, swinging left to right, like a metronome set to a frolicking tune, Little Bear was determined to read five chapters of his new book, in the proceeding twenty minutes!  His reading strategy held an outside hope of success -- and wasn’t helped by the fact that he was perched topside on the rumble seat of his family’s Plymouth!  Nevertheless -- as the wind rustled at the pages -- the cub gripped the hefty book into his paws -- and puckered his eyes to the whirling wind!  One way or another, he would finish his reading -- and preferably at the last minute!  True, his tactics didn’t allow reflecting -- or observing -- but the point is -- the cub got it done!  No matter what the assignment, Little Bear always finished his schoolwork -- just in time -- with clever brainwork.

In fact, he had his homework strategy honed to an art!  One bright morn he wrote an essay in the shower!   Then, he finished his subtraction while mowing the lawn.  True he had missed some patches of grass.  But the tableau overall.  The bright picture left.   Was a sparklingly impressive starry-shaped motif!

Hence -- Albeart Littlebud, known as simply Little Bear, was sure hurrying was the best way of getting important things done.  Ergo.  It was best left -- un-done -- to the last minute!  True to this rule, the current assignment could be no exception.

The foolproof logic behind his method was simple and obvious.  Why waste time?  The question itself formed his unassailable argument.

What remained a mystery, was if anything could change his mind, it was the book he gripped firmly in his paws.  Nevertheless -- with the full volume of the author’s famous work -- it would be some time before he understood its staggering value.  But understand he would, in a compelling, and magnificently clever way, in which he had never grasped anything so completely instrumental to bright thinking before!
